Dear Committee,
I have only two comments. I would like to note that in my opinion the voting system chosen for the Reform Bill is not fair. I believe that the STV system would be fairer as it would allow people to choose candidates in the parties. Removing the right to choose candidates would be undemocratic. I believe STV would allow the freedom to choose the party’s best candidates and would ensure healthy competition between candidates.
My other comment is that combining two constituencies would make the constituency too big for the elected member to serve. And it will create confusion for the electors. I believe there should be one constituency for every 3 Senedd members.
Thank you,
